I ran speedtest.net to check and the results are as follows:

Test Without proxy
4.94mb/s down
0.47mb/s up
38ms ping

Test With proxy
0.35mb/s down
0.20 mb/s up
515ms Ping

The test was run at 1:43pm UK time today, Thursday 29th October

Can you please make one more test. Please select the test server in the UK and DO NOT enable proxy in the browser.

This way we can check the speed of the network connection between your ISP and UK servers.

Ran test as requested to UK server from Israel without the proxy enabled and the results are as follows:

Latency: 149ms
Download speed: 1.98 mbps
Upload: 0.65 mpbs

That should be good enough to watch streaming iplayer content I believe. Quite a difference from the .30mbps I got with the proxy enabled.

Thanks

Can you please try again WITH PROXY ENABLED and post your results here.

Other than the issue of the speed, there are no geolocation issues - I am able to watch the iPlayer - just not at the current speed.

I am afraid that for whatever reason, its just not working out for me and I will have to cancel the subscription.

Thanks for trying to help in any case

No problem, make sure you cancel BEFORE your trial expires and your PayPal account is charged for a subscription term.

sorry for all inconveniences caused.

I tried to watch the F1 Quali session today (12:55 GMT start till 14:10) and the performance wasn't great, 5-15 second pauses every 45-60 seconds which isn't good at all! Got a few messages via the BBC iPlayer saying bandwidth was poor hence the problems.
I'd hardly call those times of the day "peak" so I'd have expected much better performance, imagine trying to watch something at peak times!!!

So I ran the ADSL speed tests again using the proxy with the following results.

18mb Neuf Connection in France
Reliable connection and bandwidth services without pauses not using the proxy to other similar services based in both the UK and France.

test results:

5.12 down
0.84 up
142ms ping

9.08 down
0.92 up
173ms ping

5.61 down
0.94 up
143ms ping

Tests without proxy:

11.54 down
0.92 up
73ms ping

12.2 down
0.92 up
70ms ping

All tests done using uno.net on the ADSL speed test site as requested.

your latest test results are quite good.

try watching the stream in lower quality if you get buffering problems.

Totally unwatchable via the proxy service, had to switch to another service where there were no problems (shows there's no problem with my connection).

I ran the speed tests again but had similar results as previously posted which show there's not really a speed issue however the iPlayer site paused for between 5-15 seconds every 45 seconds and I think you'll agree that makes any programe especially a live sporting event unwatchable.

Is this really considered peak viewing hours?
I'm sure my girlfriend will be attempting to watch x-Factor tonight, last night's episode and then the live show tonight which I would consider peak viewing so we'll see how this performs again but I doubt there's going to be a change there!

Peak viewing hours are also during F1 events streamed on BBC. There have been few hundred people watching final 2009 season race yesterday. The majority of them are repeating customers.

And we did not get any network speed complains apart from this one. I guess the real problem is somewhere on your end. That's cool you have found an option to watch F1 somewhere else.

We do not pretend to be a 100 percent bullet-proof solution to everybody. That is why we offer a 3-day long FREE TRIAL period so people could test everything themselves.

So basically you're saying that it's my problem and not yours despite the fact you've got other people on your forums complaining about the same/similar issues?

My girlfriend managed to watch the X factor the same evening with no problems.

However last night she tried to watch Saturdays X-Factor and then the live Sunday show with a huge amount of problems, so much that she gave up in the end.

Strange how this works sometimes and not others and there's nothing else going on during the times I try to use the proxy on my connection. That shows me that the problem is with your service not mine!

I hardly think that being able to watch a single 1 hour show over the course of a month is good value for money or even anywhere near 10% bullet proof!
I got a 3 day trial and had no problems, hence my sign up to the service where I had nearly a months worth of problem free viewing. When I signed up for my 2nd month I've had nothing but problems, nothing has changed at my end of the connection so again I'd point to changes at your end of the service.
Needless to say I'll not be signing up to a 3rd month with you, thanks for also showing that you're not particulaly good at supporting your paying customers!

Other than asking me to run a speed test I can't see any other useful help, advice or information that you've provided here!

We need a speedtest results in order to decide weather or not your subscription needs to be switched over to the different proxy server.

Your speed test results were quite good that was why I did not switch over your subscription. If you want me to do so I will do it for you.

But you haven't asked for my subscription ID so how would you know which proxy I'm on and which to switch to? Obviously since I've only been able to watch 1 programme trouble free in an attempted months worth then switching me would be a sensible approach.
