I hope this is the correct section, if not I apologize.

I'm very frustrated at the moment because it appears out of nowhere that my usage of a proxy server via my LAN settings isn't working. I came home yesterday, turned it on, it was working fine, and then 5 minutes later I came to go to another website and it stopped working. I've tried restarting my router, turned my computer on and off, tried proxies with 100% reliability and still the page won't load.

I use UK proxies so I can watch iplayer and 4oD on my computer while I'm out of the country. I even downloaded Firefox thinking all of a sudden IE was acting up and it won't work there either. I'm at my wits end of what the problem could be since it clearly seems to be my computer blocking it from working as I've tried connecting via another network and it still won't work. Ordinarily I can use proxies with 50% reliability and they work fine.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?! I'm at my wits end!

You should understand that open proxies does not give you 100% warranty of uptime during your online activity. Use paid proxies instead.

hi,
Thanks for the response! the thing was I tried a lot of different proxies, ones outside of the UK that were working at 100% reliability, at different times of the day, etc. I've deteremined it's a problem with my computer. Something is blocking me internally from their use so I'm just going to have to take it in next week to get it sorted. ah well. thanks anyway!
