I must say this is a first. But after the so called "FRESH" lists that are posted on the popular distribution sites. It's a matter of hours if not minutes that 99.9% of them are already offline. I use my favorite checker through the online interface and it's dead on just about all the time and will tell you what kind of proxy working proxy it is. Such as, Transparanent (no thanks), Anonymous, Highly Anonymous Elite, HTTPS, HTTP Connect, as well as Socks testing too. All in real time. Don't bother using their proxy lists or the sites they link to. They will disappoint you.

Glad to have the opportunity to try this out for a week, should be a worthwhile experience. I am already chaining with Secure-Tunnel Socks Server via SSH port 22 tunnel. Using my account with anonymizer total net shield. Bitvise Tunnelier (free ssh client) lets you specify a socks server to connect through to establish a SSH connection. Finally, the final piece is to have an active elite proxy to port forward all web requests to which go through anonymizer's random IP addresses via SSH. Only pay for Total Net Shield annually and it's well worth it. But for those who are unaware of the elite proxies out here that do exist, regular surfing needs to go through their outbound ssh proxy. (Who knows if they are looking, they aren't logging) Figured I would take them out of the loop as far as tracing back as the current IP by rotating elite anonymous proxies obtained here.
I have quite a bit of knowledge about the whole security on the net thing and plenty of tips to keep yourself from being sniffed.
Feel free to email me with any questions.

I was always curious how people defined private socks.
Do you use a service like http-tunnel or hopster which is subscription based? Then there is a funky one called findnot that combines ssh over port 80 and then creates a localhost of 1088 to server proxy requests via socks.
Just was curious.
I'll talk this discussion to a more appropriate thread.

Stu,
I tried emailing you this, but you must have already deleted that nyms account, so I'm posting it here. Hopefully you get it and can give some help.
I have been seaching all over the Internet for
information concerning what you said you were doing
in this post.
It seems that you are using several programs at once:
1) Secure-Tunnel
2) Total Net Shield
3) Bitvise Tunnelier
4) a Socks server
5) "an active elite proxy"
It seems that Secure-Tunnel and Total Net Shield do
the same thing, not sure why you would use
both. And, I'm not sure how all the other pieces fit
together for what you're doing. Maybe it is
different from what I'm trying to do.
What I'm trying to do is use a Socks5 proxy with Total
Net Shield so that I can get BitTorrent
traffic through Total Net Shield. Total Net Shield
does not allow P2P traffic, so I thought that
if I use a Socks5 proxy (I have been trying to use
HTTP-Tunnel) and allow my bittorrent client
(uTorrent) go through the Socks5 proxy, then I could
get it to go through Total Net Shield.
What I'm confused about is that both HTTP-Tunnel and
Total Net Shield are localhost proxies.
HTTP-Tunnel works on port 1080 and Total Net Shield
works on Port 80 (although in the
configuration of Total Net Shield, it looks like
cyberpass.net:22 is used somehow). Is it even
possible to have two different types of localhost
proxies chained together? It seems that's what
you have done.
So, knowing what I'm trying to do, could you paint me
a picture of what/how your chaining all that
you use together and their configurations? Your help
would be greatly appreciated!
It looks like maybe I could just use Secure-Tunnel
instead of Total Net Shield, since they state
that they allow P2P traffic through their servers.
What do you think? Even if you think that
could work, I am still interested in how you have all
your stuff chained together, at least to
learn more on this topic in general.
Thanks again,
Stan
