| I live in Spain and would like to be able to watch the programs from the BBCiplayer. At the moment, when I try to download a program I am told that I have to have be UK based. Has anyone overcome this problem and if so, how did they do it (in simple terms). |

I am in the US and have the same problem. Would love a list of UK proxies that would allow me to watch the programs from here.
Thanks so much |

| I'm in the same situation. There was one yesterday which worked for me, but I'm afraid there are only 2 listed now for the UK and neither do the job :-( |

I think that you'll probably alert the sysop of any proxy you attempt to stream high-bandwidth/video through. Thats probably why so few UK proxies appear here now. I'd recommend looking here....
http://www.darkedges.com/bbc/ ----requires you to use Firefox though
Here is a soultion that only uses the proxy to confirm its in the UK, but then streams content through your exisiting IP regardless of whether its in the UK or not. I've tried it and it works, although I'm from the UK but currently working in the US. If we all resit the temptation to strean the video through the proxy, UK proxy servers should start to re-appear here, so we can then use the above solution. |

I tried to follow the instructions on the link you provided, but got stuck at step 8:
Quote: In Hostname and Port enter the Hostname and Port (and select if it is a SOCKS Proxy and version if using SOCKS)
Where do I find a hostname and which port should I select? |
